Trendsetter is a New England style American IPA (NEIPA). The name represents the hops selected for this specific brew, as they are the most popular amongst the growing number of high alpha acid flavour bombs being added to this style of beer.
Cascade, Simcoe, Mosaic and Citra have been found by craft brewers to be some of the best performing hops for this style of IPA. These hops have gained their merit from being consistent performers in bittering, flavouring and aromatic additions to New England and West Coast Style IPAs.
These hops work very well on their own, but when they come together they create some of the best tasting beers in this emerging style, which has taken the world by storm and spawned numerous craft breweries that focus specifically on this hazy, juicy, tropical, fruity style of beer.
This beer is formulated with no crystal malt additions to limit malty sweetness allowing the hops to be showcased. The malt profile contains generous amounts of wheat, oats, Canadian grown 2-row malt and Monquart malt, which is grown and malted in small craft batches in Johnville, New Brunswick. This can leave a haze in the beer when finished to make this a #hazyboi.
Hops are added in large quantities towards the end and after the boil to promote their aromatic and flavour characteristics, instead of making the beer highly bitter. This beer is also dry hopped prior to packaging to bring out even more of the unique blend of these trendsetting juice bombs!
Our most hoppy kit by far, and a tribute to the hops that spawned a new wave of beers across the world. This brew would be considered an intermediate to advanced recipe to brew at home and contains some water mineral adjustments to promote the non-bitter hop forwardness. Rice hulls are also contained to promote mash extraction due to the high gravity.
Expected ABV is 7.0%
